Participant Expectations

Teacher Historians will:

• Participate in a kick-off meeting in January, 2013 and at least four [two in Spring 2013 and two in Fall 2013] additional workshops
• Participate in the Texas Teachers Teaching American History Summer History Institute from June 17 through June 28, 2013 to be held at the University of Houston Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
• Read the required books from the professional library provided and participate in selected peer book discussions.
• Participate in a structured process to design and implement [in Fall 2013] an action research plan to address an instructional issue in your own classroom
• Post [online] a final version of the completed action research plan with student exemplars.
